Dr. Coverman was born in Ohio and grew up in South Florida. He attended the University of Florida and received his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine. After completing a medical internship at the University of Texas at San Antonio he went on to Los Angeles for his three year dermatology residency at U.C.L.A. During that time, he completed a one year Mohs skin cancer surgery fellowship and was also able to study with Dr. Frederic Mohs at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin.
He is board certified in dermatology and a member of the following medical organizations: *American Academy of Dermatology * American Society of Dermatologic Surgery * International Society for Dermatologic Surgery * American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology * North American Phlebology Society * Central Florida Dermatologic Surgery * Florida Society of Dermatology as well as many other medical organizations. Dr. Coverman is specially recognized for having opened the first medical skin care center in the southeast. He has been featured on both local and national television as well as other media. Television stations such as Channel 9, Channel 7 and ABC have featured Dr. Coverman for his treatment of rosacea with the EsteLux machine.
