Cosmetic Procedures

Botox-  A non-surigal wrinkle eliminator, can dramatically soften the appearance of wrinkles. Botox is FDA approved for cosmetic purposes and may be just what you need to get rid of that tired and worried look without having any down time or surgery. In extremely small amounts, Botox is injected into the specific muscles that cause frown lines. These isolated muscles are emobolized by the Botox, and can no longer contract. The action of frowning is stopped and frown lines diminish. Combine Botox treatment with collagen injections and the results can be quite dramatic. The procedure is safe and simple enough to be performed during your lunch hour.

Restylane-Restylane creates beauty with a gel based on a natural substance called hyaluronic acid.  It gives natural volume in your skin to lift and produce firmness, resulting in a healthy, vital appearance. The session often takes less than 30 minutes.  During the treatment Restylane is injected into the skin in tiny amounts with a very fine needle.  When injected into the skin, Restylane produces volume to smoothe wrinkles and fill lines.  Results last between 6-12 months.

Collagen (Zyderm)- Collagen Replacement Therapy is a proven non-surgical treatment with immidate results. Purified collagen is injected in tiny amounts into the upper most layers of the skin. It acts as a frame work into which new cells can grow, effectively filling depressions. It is particularly useful for nasolabial folds, forehead lines, “crows feet” lateral to the eyes, lines at the bridge of the nose and wrinkles above, below and to the sides of the mouth. In some cases collagen is also used to fill in depressions resulting from acne scarring. For many patients, this simple lunch time procedure brings them the youthful appearance they’ve been looking for.

IPL Hair Removal- Pulsed-light systems work by emitting pulses of intense lamp-light into the hair follicles. The light is absorbed by the pigment in the follicles and converted to heat. The heat then loosens the hair and disables the follicular cells responsible for growing new hair. Most hair removed will not grow back for months, while other hair may not grow back at all. Hair that does grow back may be thinner and lighter in color.
Thanks to its advanced technology the IPL system works several faster than other hair removal systems. Smaller areas, such as the underarms, upper lip, or bikiniline can be treated in about five minutes. Larger areas such as, the legs, back or chest can be treated in about fifteen minutes! In addition, since the pulses of light penetrate the skin, you do not deed to let your hair grow out before you are treated. With these treatments you can stay virtually hair free all of the time!

Photorejuventation- The RejuveLux process uses pulsed light to treat the following problems:Pigmented Lesions (Sunspots or Age Spots)- these spots occur in response to sun-induced skin injury and appear as dark brown circles, known as Solar Lentigens. There can also be diffuse browning of the skin, known as Actinic Bronzing. Vascular Lesions- these are superficial blue, red or purple veins under the skin’s surface. Some common types include Rosacea (facial inflammation) and Spider Veins (tiny vessels that appear near the surface of the face).  RejuveLux works by emitting light that breaks up the pigment in the lesions. After the treatment pigmented lesions will darken slightly and then fade away after about 10-14 days. Vessels generally undergo immediate graying or blanching and the surrounding are may redden. The vessels then fade after about 10-14 days. All areas of the body, except directly around the eyes can be effectively treated quickly and safely.

Acne Treatment Program- Acne is something most of us have experienced at one time or another. While most people outgrow acne, many continue to be affected much longer. Dr. Coverman specializes in the treatment of acne and teaches other doctors the most effective acne treatments. Oral medications (taken by mouth) and topical medications (applied to the skin) used in conjunction with cryospray and acne surgery are an essential part of acne treatment plans. Treatments plans, including medications and products vary depending upon the severity and type of acne. Correction of scarring and discoloration are also addressed with therapies such as microdermabrasion, chemical peels and facials. Each treatment program is catered to fit the individual.

Sclerotherapy- treatment of spider and reticular veins by sclerotherapy involves the injection of a solution into the veins, causing them to shrink and close down. The injected veins completely disappear for a few seconds as blood is pushed out by the solution, but when blood flow returns, they reappear. By the next morning, treated veins are deep scarlet and the injected area looks bruised and swollen. It may be sore when touched. The absorption process affects only the injected area and does not involve other vessels. Most veins respond to one treatment, however, some veins may require additional treatments for satisfactory results. Thesuccessfully treated vessels cannot return but new veins may develop in that or other areas.
